Identity & History
Founded by HRH Prince Abdullah Al Faisal in 1970, MECL has a total team strength of about 500 employees and is the Kingdom’s exclusive distributor of Sony consumer electronics, IT & entertainment related products.

Purpose
An integrated team specialized in sales, marketing, and customer service, works towards one goal: total customer satisfaction. To sustain the brand’s leadership and cope with the constantly changing business environment, MECL’s management has restructured the organization’s system of operation – endorsing flexibility, emphasizing product knowledge, and further raising the standards for quality of service, like no other.

MECL offers a range of innovative products and services in the information technology, entertainment and consumer electronics categories. These include Sony Bravia hi-definition color televisions, Digital Handycam video recorders, Cybershot digital still cameras, Walkman personal audio & mp3/mp4 products, Bravia home theater systems, Sony Ericsson mobile phones, Playstation entertainment & software gaming products, Xplode car audio products, data projectors, memory sticks, Sony Vaio laptop computers as well as other home audio and video products.

Competitive Edge
MECL has an extensive network of about 600 dealers, 37 fully owned showrooms, and 15 service centers spread throughout the Kingdom. New Sony World Showrooms with "Digital Themes" are currently being established to promote Sony's strategy of converging with the latest in digital hi-definition, gaming & lifestyle products.
